Asplenium obtusatum is a good coastal fern and can be very striking in rock gardens. Roots must be kept cool and moist for best effect. Has dark green fronds and fleshy appearance and frond length varies between 10 to 60cm.
In New Zealand found around coastline from North Cape to North Taranaki and Bay of Plenty and again from Wellington Southwards though rare to find on East coast of South Island north of Omararu.
