This is what is termed a Japanese painted fern, has lustrous sliver fronds with heavy medial burgundy veins emerging in Spring. Grows best in free draining soil and needs part shade  (but do not overshade as it needs reasonably good light to bring out the colour in the fronds).

It is deciduous in Winter.

Grows 45cm tall x 30cm wide.
