can get variegated species as well (see Pteris cretica variegata) but the standard one is a mid green easily grown fern. Tolerates most soil conditions and can grow in the open though the colour does fade and can get sun burn on fronds. Fast grower.
Can be used as an indoor plant.
Not a New Zealand native.
