NZ Native and evegreen. Wood is deep red in colour and is strong and quite durable, used in housing and furniture extensively.
Has long narrow leaves which are quite soft when young but harden as they get older (bit like my skin!!).
A very statesque tree and will grow to 20-35m tall.
