Plagianthus regius - Ribbonwood

Plagianthus regius - Ribbonwood
Latin name:
Plagianthus regius
Common name:
Ribbonwood
Keywords:
ribbonwood

Is a deciduous NZ native growing to 5m tall x 4m wide. Slender tree with interlacing branches. Leaves are ovate and quite broad. Produces small yellow bell shaped flowers in the early Spring though to Summer.
Make sure you recognise the tree width when planning your planting and don't overcrowd.
Needs good deep rich well drained soils, ok in open positions as will withstand strong winds. You can trim off branches to keep a nice clean trunk.
