Mandarin satsuma

Latin Name Satsuma mandarin

Common Name Satsuma

Grow in free draining soil and in sunny position.
Fertilising - light nitrogen applications (urea or calcium ammonium nitrate) - in young fruit best 3 small applications per annum - early Spring, early Summer and then a light Autumn application.

In Winter we recommend you use a copper spray as a clean up to rid of any fungicides and then in early Spring an oil spray to rid thrip, mite or scale if that is at all evident.

Sweet seedless fruit and easy peel. Fruits in June-July, pick when ready as they do get a bit puffed up and dry if left on the tree.

N.B We only grow these in 25 litre easy lift bags and they will have been in that bag for 15-18 months and will be approx 1.0-1.4m tall.
